Taylor's University and the University of Toulouse jointly initiated the biennial Asia-Euro conference series on tourism, hospitality and gastronomy in 2004. This year it will be held in India for the first time, and the focus will be on the future of tourism.
Taylor's University and our longstanding partner the University of Toulouse Jean-Jaures (UT2J) initiated the biennial Asia-Euro conference series on tourism, hospitality and gastronomy in 2004. So far, the conference has always been hosted in Kuala Lumpur by the Taylor's School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (HTCA/TCHT). But this year, it will be hosted by the Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management (IITTM) in Gwalior (India). To be held from November 9-12th 2016, the theme of this year's conference will be "Envisioning Tourism in 2050". Professor Dr. Pradeep Nair the DVC of Taylor's University and Professor Jean-Pierre Poulain, Dean of ISTHIA at UT2J travelled to India to make the announcement and hand-over the conference flag.
Professor Dr. Pradeep Nair said that "Over the years we have built-up the stature of this conference, and we are now delighted to be in a position to host the event in another location in Asia". Dean of HTCA/TCHT, Mr. Neethia Ari Ragavan added that "This year's conference will focus on the future of tourism, and will be a platform to discuss future trends, ideas, implications, methodologies for tourism scholars and practitioners".
